A wonderful example for Canadian students to follow as a lead-up to the 2010 Olympics. How about Green Voyageurs?

The Green Long March will actively involve over 10,000 students nationwide. Tens of thousands more students will support its infrastructure. It will reach approximately 20 provinces and 500 cities and towns. It will provide awareness and practical conservation ideas to thousands of people in rural communities all over China. The scientific research conducted throughout the Green Long March will ultimately benefit hundreds of thousands of local people by using data and case studies to create local, practical initiatives in poverty alleviation, water resource protection, and forest and wildlife protection. With national and international media coverage, awareness will spread throughout China and beyond. Support of this new initiative, one that is a first in China, will not only help improve the status and awareness of the need for environmental protection and conservation, but also will outline a path for sustainable development. By initiating this conservation movement, China is taking the lead in inspiring young people throughout the world to begin their own Green Long March, bringing world focus to the needs of future generations.
