Ronald Walker July 22, 1931, January 23, 2015
Ron passed away peacefully at the age of 83 of Alzheimer’s with his loving wife of 25 years, Margaret Lefebvre at his side. Ron was extremely proud of, and will be sadly missed by his children, Keith (Sue), Brent (Narda), Lesley (John) and Mark (Sheena), his brother Bruce (Mary Jane), his stepson Stuart and his grandchildren, Jason, Kristen, Scott, Kathryn, Rhonda, Jason, Kyle and Erin. Ron will be remembered for his intelligence, compassion and the bold ways he lived his fascinating life. Skiing was his lifetime passion and a legacy that he passed on to many others. His friends at Twinski will remember him fondly for his sense of fun and playfulness. In his later life, Ron, with his friend, Nancy Robinson, published “No Limits”, a tribute to his friends Rhoda and Rhona Wurtele.

Ron gave back to his community as a founding member of the Mount Bruno United Church, the Richelieu Valley School Board and the South Shore Protestant Regional School Board. He was active in many community activities including The Phoenix Foundation, St. Andrew’s Society and The World Scottish Festival.

Thanks to all the compassionate caregivers at St. Margaret Residential Centre for providing a safe and stimulating home for Ron. A special thanks to Trisha and Liz for their long time support of Ron and Margaret.

The celebration of Ron’s life will take place on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 3:00pm at the Westmount Park United Church, 4695 de Maisonneuve W, Westmount. A reception will follow at the church hall.
