Holly Higgins Jonas (02/07/1937 – 04/30/2018)
It is with considerable sadness that we announce the passing of Holly Higgins Jonas, on April 30, 2018.
Loving wife to John, mother to Jennifer, Jeremy, Jonathan, and Jodie. Sister to Tory, Ean, and the late Ben Higgins. Grandmother to Nicholas, Gabriel, Chloe, Ella, Juliet, and Florence.
She will be remembered as a mother, world traveller, hostess, chorister, chef, author, rascal, teacher, music therapist and loyal friend.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of her life on Saturday, May 5, at the McGill Faculty Club, 3450 McTavish Street, Montreal, 4 pm.
These past few weeks and months I have been transitioning my Dearly Beloved Mother towards the end of her amazing journey on this earth. It has been a sacred and peaceful passage. Mom had a big heart and touched many people’s lives and I know that her spirit will live on through us. Mom loved and was a mother to so many people. Sadly, the world is a smaller place today. Jodie Jonas
It is with great sadness that my fierce, loving, and beautiful Granny, Holly Higgins, passed away late last night. She was surrounded by so many loved ones while listening to her favourite record when she peacefully left us. She will be profoundly missed. ❤️ Love you Granny Chloe Simone Jonas

My dear Jeremy and precious second family,
I am so very sad, but also relieved for Holly that she has no more pain or anxiety and, I believe, again has her full capacities, able to watch over you – and all of us – with the loving attention she gave throughout her life.
I hope she will also keep an eye on David.
It is a great consolation that her final moments were so serene, filled with the people, objects and sounds about which she was so passionate throughout her life.
Holly leaves a wonderful legacy in her family whom she adored and who always returned that adoration with enthusiasm and, later in her life, with such loving care.
With much love to you all,
Diana

Hello Diana,
My thoughts have very much been with you. I was deeply sorry to miss the celebration of David, I was on business travel in India, I just could not get back in time.
On our end, I must share with you that Holly passed away late last night, with great dignity, serenity, and in an envelope of love with her family around her. She was in her room, with her brother’s paintings on the wall, listening to her chosen King’s College Choir. We alternated in holding her hand, being with her, sharing thoughts with her.
So it is a sad day, but not tragic, she had many weeks to get closure and was mindful and serene the whole way through. She was positive and brave throughout this last phase, which was her last gift to us all, making it easier and providing plenty of opportunity to share our memories and messages of gratitude and affection.
Again, thinking of you, and how you and your family has contributed so much to ours,
Jeremy
